All our cooked meats and pastries are produced in our new third-floor Bethlehem Street kitchens by the Brown family. Father George who has over 35 years bakery experience is ably assisted by his sons Chris & Kirk who are proving to be most adept at learning the traditional old fashioned skills whilst introducing modern lateral production ideas.
We produce an eclectic choice of products embracing our time-honoured 'Grannie Pettit' range; that includes her multi-Gold Medal winning Lincolnshire Pork Pies and Ploughman's pasties; to our more radical offerings such as The Gentleman's Pie, a sumptuous mixture of Aberdeen Angus rump steak marinated in tawny port topped with Lincoln Blue cheese and enveloped in our hot-crust pastry.
We offer a fine selection of home-cooked Wiltshire cure hams and 'The Taste of Yesteryear' with brawn and potted beef. We have two pro-active development chefs who are constantly submitting the fruits of their labours for evaluation. The latest to be accepted are 'Pettit's Pot Pies'... Watch this space.
2008 British Pig Executive (BPEX) Pork & Pastry Product of the Year
This pie again ensued an inspiration of John Pettit's wife Valerie... Apple pie is a national favourite; we wanted to lift the apple pie concept to another plateau.
Our prize winning pie is an amalgam of out-door bred and reared Lincolnshire Pork marinated in Cider, subtle English Herbs & delicate Spices topped with Apples caramelised in Brandy; the whole is encased with a lattice topped hot-water pastry.
These individual pies can be enjoyed both cold or hot depending on your choice. If you decide to reheat please use your oven not your microwave as this will adversley affect the quality of the pastry.
